Extenders for various applications
|
Due to its high purity, whiteness and
brightness crystal quartz sand from Schlingmeier is an ideal extender for
synthetic resin bonded materials. The mechanical properties such as impact
hardness, bending and tensile strength, compression strength, and the modulus of
elasticity, can be improved. The coefficient of linear thermal expansion
decreases. Shrinkage and increase in temperature during hardening can be reduced.
Furthermore, both acid and alkali resistance can be increased. As quartz can
be considered inert towards synthetic
resin bonded materials, the working time is not affected.

The following table shows selected grades
which are preferably used as extenders. All dry sands (T) can be supplied as
blended grades. Please let us know your favourite grain size distribution.
