Quartz sands in the iron processing and refractory industry
|
Due to its high purity crystal quartz sand from Schlingmeier has a high
thermal-mechanical stability. In general the sintering point exceeds 1600°C.
The high flowability of the sand results from the favourable particle shape
which is subangular. Both high refractoriness and high flowability make it
an outstanding basic material for the production of filler sands (sliding
gate fillers) in steel mills. |

The following table shows selected grades which are preferable used in the iron
processing and refractory industry. All dry sands (T) can be supplied as
blended grades. By adapting the particle size distribution significant
parameters as flowability and packing density can be optimized. Please let
us know your favourite grain size distribution. |
